Vanderbilt vs UFlorida
After getting waitlisted from UMich not really sure what to do. I’ve heard Vanderbilt is great for consulting but mediocre for banking. I’m also majoring in Econ (wouldn’t be able to switch for a year) and heard HOD is the only way to go for consulting, meaning I’d miss out on freshman year internships. Also wasn’t sure how it placed in the Northeast which is where I want to land. Also in Wake, IU Kelley, UMiami, Tulane, and Northeastern. Any help with where to choose would be great or the pros/cons of each school.
Vandy and transfer after 1st year after 3.8+
Is Vanderbilt REALLY that bad for IBD? It's wild to me that a school with a 7% acceptance rate isnt a semi-target at the LEAST.
I got into Rice myself and deciding between it and UVA rn. Rice has a 7% acceptance rate too...and it falls into the same bucket as Vandy: semi-target. That said, Rice places well in Houston. Just by looking at LinkedIn alumni, Vandy places well on the street. It would be fine, but there is NO reason you shouldn't submit transfer apps if you go there unless you would die for your school.
Single digit acceptance rate for Rice is insane. It's a good school but not single digit good.
It's because the campus is so small. The reason it's still on the board for me with UVA is because they have a new UG program and it's so non-competitive. It's way easier to break into IB, but do I want to settle for oil and gas in TX? idrk
