What options do I have?

I'm an incoming senior at a non-HYP Ivy. I had been planning on going into law for a while, but I've concluded that if I'm going to work all those hours, I'd much prefer a Wall Street salary.

Since I was pre-law for so long, I'm going to graduate with a joke major. However, I have amassed a decently good gpa (3.95-4.05,) depending on how I do these next two semesters. Additionally, since I was pre-law, I have absolutely no ec's--no internships or anything.

I feel like getting an MBA might be the best option for me to break onto Wall Street, but my research shows that MBA programs don't really like to accept students straight out of undergrad.

Would my best option be to network like hell this next year and hope for the best, or accept my fate and try for an MBA program?

Echoing the post above me, network and reach out to your alumni working in the industry. Make sure you have a compelling reason/story when they ask you why you want to be in finance. I've met countless students from my alma mater who couldn't tell me 'why finance' other than money -- this has personally turned me off from wanting to help.

Talk to @TNA" about a MSF. You don't need it for "branding" purposes, but it'll give you some knowledge and another shot at recruiting.

I wouldn't worry too much about the major though. I was in a very similar boat as you - Poli Sci Pre-Law for the longest time and ended with only Poli Sci / Econ.

Go through on-campus recruiting to try to find a job At the same time, prepare and apply to MSF programs in case a job doesn't pan out

your joke major is from a top tier school. Don't take another Masters program seriously unless you really need it that much. You should preserve the ivy brand and go ahead, fix your technical deficiency outside degree programs. You could take a few classes without degree intention... a HBX CORe, or something like a Business Summer Camp. That's all you need and you can round your profile with business stuff without wrecking your brand.
