Which frat will help me get into the IBW at Kelley?
I'm a senior that committed to Kelley, and I know that getting into the IBW is very difficult. I would need a 3.9+ GPA and high grades in certain classes, but I also read that certain frats will increase my chance of getting into the workshop. I know there are a lot of Kelley kids on WSO, so I was wondering if you guys could tell me which frats to rush, and what else I could do to improve my chances for IBW.

Judging by the fact that you are basing your frat selection off of WSO, I would assume that you'll have more difficulty getting into a fraternity than the IBW.
It’s so different being in Canada as opposed to the USA. I went to a “target” school in ON & during my IB internship recruiting stage not a single recruiter or interviewer placed any weight on my membership in a frat.
I’m curious - does it actually make that much of a difference in the US? I find it odd that recruiters would value binge drinking and degeneracy so much, lol.

Recruiters could care less lol (unless they were also part of the same frat in which case they might connect on that basis). Kids need to get into the workshop which will get them the job. If they want the workshop, then they need to be really special. Perfect grades AND something else. OP wants to know whether joining a certain frat could be that something else.

Also, I was never in a frat, but I know ppl from my school who did exactly what I just suggested and got into the likes of Sigma Chi, ZBT, SAE, etc.

I have some friends in business frats at Indiana (don't go there myself), but those always help with recruiting. If you have time, try to join a normal & business frat
I would advise business frats over normal frats if you're looking for connections within the IBW. I believe AKPsi and DSP have the largest workshop numbers for any of the workshops out of the business frats. Networking definitely does play into the process of applying for the workshops and your Kelley network will serve you much better than a Greek life network. Business frats will also have parties and will be fun in their own way but it has less of a chance of being looked down upon by someones reviewing your resume in the future as well.
I don't think you know what you are talking about Prospect. Many bankers were part of "normal fraternities" while in school, especially the senior bankers.
lol I went to a target school and was in both a social frat and a business frat. Far and away the social frat was so much better for connections. The Biz frat had alum who pushed your resumes but they never went nearly as hard as social frat alums. Literally ran into a social frat alum from 30 years ago and spoke to him for 2 minutes in homecoming and he called me three months later because his MD buddy told him they were hiring for interns and he remembered I wanted into AM and asked if he wanted him as a referral. Would never get that out of a biz frat.

Because frats are constantly getting kicked off campus, it is hard to know which ones will exist in four years. I would recommend a business frat, as they generally have members in most workshops. Additionally, there are other organizations like WIB (for women), Emerging Markets club, financial services club, Ascend, Out, Chinese Business Association, TAMID etc. that all have members in IBW and can serve as networking tools.
Also, the general conception that frats are great networking tools is from our parents' generation. I don't think it means as much any more.

From someone who doesn’t go to IU, how important is the IBW in breaking in? I’ve just seen a lot about it and I don’t understand the all out pull for it.
People that work 90 Hours a week in prestigious M&A groups are just overcompensating for the facts that they weren’t in top tier frats. If you join Beta your own mom will think you’re gay.
