Which Masters in Finance to target?
I'm an international student from Eastern Europe. Just finished bachelors and plan to apply this fall for masters in finance in US or UK. Ideally want to break into IB/consulting
- Undergraduate: Bachelors in Economics (top school in country)
- GPA: 3.2/4
- GRE: 323 (164Q / 159V)
- Work Experience: 1 year in equity / global market research
- Languages: Fluent in English, C2 diploma in French
- Additional: Winner of investment case competition, tutoring experience, programming certifications
Which universities should I realistically target with these stats?
go for the best in UK:
Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, LBS, Imperial.
US I don't really know that well, maybe it's better someone else tells you about this.
For UK you have really good background and experiences and grades, surely you can get into most, if not all of these above mentioned schools.
Thanks for the reply! Have you had any experience applying to these unis? Oxbridge and LSE seem to prioritize grades and I think my gpa would be considered too low
definitely apply to all. Oxford might be difficult to get in, and from what I remember Cambridge is only for people with a few years of experience. But LBS, LSE, and Imperial, you can definitely get in.
Top for LDN are Oxford MFE, LSE MFin or F&A, Imperial MFin or F&A, LBS MFA
US not worth it anymore with recent H1B changes
Not sure how competitive my application would be due to relatively low gpa. Oxbridge and LSE seem to especially pay attention to the academics
Hard to know - apply and you'll see
Imperial is not a target
