Its very easy to get into and is mostly filled by international students. Not worth $80K at all. I considered attending the program when I was 1 year out of college, but that would have a huge mistake.

Honestly I think it's because a lot of people on WSO value prestige. NYU is a great school with an extensive alumni network especially if you plan on staying in NYC. No matter where you go it's more about who you know and stay in contact with.

There are very successful people who went to no name school's and did very well in real estate. I'd suggest where ever you end up to keep networking and working hard. It's not the end of the world if you don't go to a top 5 MSRED/MBA and do end up going to NYU or a no name school.

Don't know off the top of my head, but there are a few threads on WSO about it. Search for Top MSRED or MBA programs.

Probably because almost anyone gets in. Even more so than the Columbia program, and that’s pretty easy to get into too. You don’t even need to have had a 3.0 undergrad gpa. Average gmat is probably mid 600s. It’s just not hard to get into.

But probably if you have a solid background with a good undergrad school and gpa you can do the NYU msred and have a great career.

FYI most graduate programs at Columbia are easy to get into. They really fuck up their name by pumping out worthless masters degrees for a little more money. Chose a peer school over Columbia for undergrad because of that.

I’ve actually seen more positive reviews on the Nyu program compared to columbia on these forums. It’s a longer program and gives more time to gain experience thru internships and has a larger alumni base
