It's been a long road, but I just received an offer at M&T Bank. I'll be an associate right at the middle of the action at their main headquarters in Buffalo. I cannot wait to work alongside all of the bankers on this forum as we compete against each other for deals.

Honestly, given my journey (w/ a 610 GMAT), I was just so excited that I accepted the offer on the spot and didn't ask for details. I think it's a rotational program with all of the major groups. Even if it a low base salary, the cost of living is so cheap in Buffalo that it probably levels out to NYC (especially with a 50%+ bonus!).

Yes, it's great to have an offer. But let's be honest here... try to remain objective and not lead him into a fake IBD position... it's difficult to hear sometimes but I don't see much evidence to the contrary.
Have you ever considered that some people aren't chasing prestige, highest pay, etc.? Maybe he has a nontraditional background or different values than most of us. If he seriously has a 610 GMAT and made it into any IB, I congratulate him.
