Advice for Student Looking to Get Into Prop/Quant Trading? List of Places to Work? Prep? Hours/Pay?

UChicago undergrad here planning to major in econ and computational/applied math -- anyone have a list of good quant places to shoot for internships at? I have heard the interview process is hella competitive but that pay and worklife balance is relatively good. I am worried about the exit opportunities/whether or not I am actual cut out for this. Any advice is appreciated as well as both insights on the industry at large and a list of places that are cool to work at within this space that might be less competitive.
