Buyside Research -> S&T

Hi, just wondering if anyone could give some advice on whether this is doable? I’ve worked in buyside research for 4 years, focused on fund of funds (equity and Alternatives) and have the CFA. What would be the best way to move to a S&T role (more likely Sales given I have a social sciences university background)? Is it applying to things you see online? Networking? Any advice much appreciated.
