S&T Internship Chances

rising sophomore (math/econ double major) here at target school with 3.9 gpa but lack of finance experience. very interested in s&t. is it basically a given to have finance experience for top internship offers? does middle eastern count as diversity?

you are chilling - keep up with the markets and have a good story. Have an interest in an asset class or 2 just for some good talking points. A good one is always rates/FX.

I got BB interviews from target w a 3.7 as stats major. Your resume is probably much better than mine so you will be good. And nah middle eastern is not diversity unfortunately. Good luck

thank you guys very much for the feedback. i still have 2 summers left so I'm tryna get at least some sort of (hopefully good) financy internship (either s&t, AM, consulting, least preferably IB) for summer after soph year to show for my applications for junior summer opportunities. does that sound sane to y'all? for sophomore summer opportunities, is it too late to apply? Especially in the areas mentioned above. again, very appreciative of any and all advice. thank you

gotcha. honestly won't be too pressed if my first finance internship is something other than s&t. just tryna get my foot in the door first to have something to show for in my "bigger" junior summer apps

just keep above a 3.7 until recruiting, do something in finance doesn’t have to be good and know the markets and you will get it 100%. DONT stress at all dude

cool thank you very much mate. really appreciate the advice. obv wouldn't hurt and planning to do some anyways but how important is networking for soph summer opps?

Important because there aren’t as many formal programs. and recruiting. 1. Identify firms near you or your house. 2. Go on LinkedIn identify alumni at the firms 3. Send emails w resume and something interesting and get on calls and be interesting and make friends
