Advice Needed - Finance Knowledge for a Cash Equities trader

Hello! I recently joined a sell-side desk working cash equities at a small shop. Previously was at a buyside firm working on the etf block desk and then eventually the electronic execution desk in equities and options. I am a total non-traditional person who lucked out landing on a desk cause of my technical (data and coding) skills.

Now that I am regularly interacting with equity research and speaking to clients I need to feel more confident in my traditional finance knowledge. Buzzwords like GBV, FFO (within REIT) and EBITDA are what I've heard but don't make much sense to me. I am contemplating writing the CFA but frankly don't see the need for it given I've thankfully advanced so far without it. Are there any alternatives to learning traditional finance stuff to understand financial modelling (REIT, Mining, Diversified Industrials) and other jargon without having to write the CFA or do an MBA?

Thank you very much and happy to provide more colour!
