Funding MSc Finance vs S&T Jobs

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice on postgrad finance study. For background, I'm from a quant degree at a non-top 200 world uni in the UK, 85% grade average, previous BB Ops SA and I am an incoming BB S&T SA. The S&T SA starts at the end of my undergrad so I'm looking to do a postgrad to tide the year out until a grad position (regardless of a return offer from current BB).

I've applied to Mphil Finance at Cambridge and MSc Finance at St. Andrew's because my finances are incredibly tight, I am unable to afford a 40k+ degree at some of the targets and can't risk not getting scholarships/losing deposits for courses if I accept after still meeting criteria.

I've seen mixed feedback for the above two finance courses so was kinda looking for some advice for which postgrads to pursue. I'm the first in my family to go into uni/banking and really don't have many people to get advice from.

Thank you very much for any help.

Cambridge 100% over St. Andrews

Don’t worry too much about not being at LBS/LSE/Oxford which people talk about the most. I would group Cambridge up there with all of them. You just won’t have access to as good as a career service and therefore you’d have to put in the time yourself to make sure you make up for that
