Should be a perfectly good intern experience if you want an ag trading seat. I personally wouldn't want to go there for a FT role
Easily will be able to recruit for FT trading/grad scheme roles next year at ABCD's, cross country merchants (ANDE, Scoular) or whatever you want in the ag space
I like those feed ingredients guys, almost took a job with them. In my previous job dealing with them they were the classic reseller of being plugged the fuck in the freight markets and would try to be best bid and offer out in the illiquid forwards and seemed to hustle to piece together deals on the fly when you needed help which imo is how you make a living since predicting forward is tough af
Editing as more thoughts come to my head that I think are important. They are trying to groom you for the long term regardless of if there's a spot open. They don't hire for a particular seat, and are one of a couple companies that I truly believe are looking for a culture fit over headcount. Take that as you wish, it can be tough just shadowing and running down trucks for somebody else early in your career but don't underestimate the value of taking it slow.
