JPM S&T vs. Citi Quant Trading & Analysis

Hey Guys,

I basically have a day to decide between two summer internships: Citi Quant Trading and Analysis and JPM S&T. Help me ! Citi just interviewed me yesterday and gave me an offer 10 minutes ago, while JPM's deadline is tomorrow...

I am a junior in college and I always want to be a trader. I am quantitative but I am not sure whether I wanna be a quant for my entire life. JPM's offer is a non-rotational generalist offer, and their full time conversion rate is around 70%. Citi's quant program is their elite program, 100% conversion rate(!!) to their 2 year full time analyst position (1 year research + 1 year quant trading. Pros and Cons are obvious: JPM has better name/better position/better shape. Citi's program is more selective and a higher job security. Which one shall I go for?

Thanks for your help.

Lily

untiltedwhen i was in college i was all about being quant and stuff... then i realized how stupid i was... fundamental/value stuff is much more interesting in my opinion.

Very true... Mathematicians have an obsession to generalize things. But Investing is the opposite, in many case, you gain edge by delving into specific situations and information.

Citi's Quant Trading program has really high conversion rate. For their last SA class, only one person didnt get full time offer.

70% conversion rate at JPM is not bad at all, you should be confident. GS 30% rate might be a different story tho.

I think the conversion rate here is irrelevant, both are great offers, ultimately, it depends on you want to be a trader or quant.

Have you made your mind yet? By the way, you said you got the offer 10 minutes before the post. Does that mean they sent out offer at midnight?
