Summer 2020 Junior Internship/Operations

I am a junior finance major at a non-target (St. John's University). I have been trying to get an internship at a BB or mid-sized bank. I am involved in a bunch of finance related extracurricular and I have a 3.85 GPA with a strong grasp of financial concepts. I tried applying to as many roles as possible at many different banks and accounting firms. I want to work within asset management. I am fine going back and working to get my MBA in my late 20s at a better business school but I want to gain valuable experience in the first few years of my career.

I have only had one interview with 200 applications and that bank (foreign bank in NYC, mid-sized) has given me an operations internship offer. I am going abroad in the spring and running out of time to receive another offer/formally interview.

1) Should I accept a role in Ops or keep trying to find a summer internship throughout my semester abroad? I have not received a denial from any banks but I am an anxious person and I am not sure if it is worth waiting as Murphy's Law says "What can go wrong will go wrong".

2) Is backroom operations as bad as WSO would lead you to believe?
