These Comp numbers are Bananas

Messina vs BofA ML

Page 14 VP making $775k, Dir making $1.25m, another Dir making $2.25m.

The highest numbers (for those levels) I've heard of since the financial crisis. I know these are outliers, but still. Perhaps I'm upset because I'm in Equity S&T and I'm pretty sure no one makes this (at respective levels).

Would love to hear thoughts from other S&T professionals about comp and the industry going forward.

Did you notice the breakdown of comp? The director made 250k base and 2mm bonus. If he (or the desk) had performed poorly, that could have been 250k all in. I'm guessing comp is highly desk-dependent, so don't anchor your estimate to the performance of the BofA structured credit desk over the three most recent years.

That aside, the entire complaint makes for quite a fun read. Anyone else think she made $4mm less than her co-head because all the shady stuff he was allegedly doing generated proportionally more pnl?
