trading from georgia tech

Hey everyone. So I know that Georgia Tech is a nontarget(semi target at best) for corp finance in banks, but I was just wondering how it does in terms of trading. From what I hear the bank's trading divisions love engineering and math students from top engineering schools. Is Georgia Tech targeted for trading positions at all. (particularly industrial engineering) I'm more of a numbers guy and I think I would enjoy trading more than corporate finance. thanks

I also came from Georgia Tech and I think we can both agree that firms don't go to tech looking to fill trading positions. I do know of Tech graduates that have leveraged their engineering(IE)/Math degree into trading positions. Now these kids had stellar grades and networked long and hard for a position. If you are able to network well it can certainly be done.

 

Definitely doable but maybe not in the traditional i-banking S&T sense. Many of the Chicago prop firms recruit from Tech. Also, many of the oil companies recruit from the school.
