Trading Return
Hi everyone,
I am wondering how many percents one needs to have in order to be considered good enough to be hired as a trader by a BB, Prop. trading firm, or hedge fund.
Personally, I am currenly making 60% a year. Is this enough ? What is recommended ?

Solicit relatives and friends to get that seed capital to start your own fund. Shouldn't be hard with 60% returns.
60% is just not enough. You need a minimum of 500%... a day. to even be considered a trader
:-) This is what I thought.
But in all seriousness 60% annually is likely unsustainable because you are risking way to much. I don't know what you're doing but I'm sure you're risking 100% of the portfolio to make that. You aren't that good.
I trade FOREX intraday. I read lots of materials on Money Management which states to limit my investments by 4% of the capital; it's exactly what I do; in other word, I risk maximum 4% of my capital per single trade. Why 60% is likely unsustainable ? I have fellow traders who do a lot more, for instance, one of them made 2 000 % in 4 years; and, currently manages investors' money. I viewed your account; you are a trader at BB. What's your return per year (just wondering what return you need to have as a BB trader) ? I appreciate your opinion.
I don't think you understand what traders at a bank do...they are market makers, it's not like they give each trader 10MM and say make 15% or you're fired. in reality all traders trade with the banks balance sheet to trade flow trying to make money on the bid-ask spread, as well as positioning the book to make money based on future order flow, market volatility, liquidity etc. There is a PnL but its not expressed as a percentage return
Thanks for letting me know. But, could you give more information on difference trading own money vs trading at banks, with more explanations ? Or maybe you could just provide URL of a video that shows completely everything and explains lots of details in trading at banks ? I guess type of trading that I do - closer to prop. trading.
