What does a mortgage trader do?
I have been searching the internet for a breakdown of how mortgages and other loans are traded, but I can’t seem to find anything that really explains what the mortgage/loan desk looks like. What does the day of someone who trades mortgage backed securities and other types of loans look like and how does it compare to being on other trading desks? Do mortgage backed securities have trading hours, and do traders get their information from Bloomberg? If anyone here has experience, I would love to hear more about what you do, or if you can share any resources that might help me gather a better understanding of MBSs and trading loans in general. Thanks!
Fairly complex answer but I'd say the most notable is causing the worst financial crisis since The Great Depression
