Tech Consulting to VC

Hi All,

I am currently working as a Tech Consultant for 4 years in the Netherlands and would like to break into Venture Capital. Working in the Tech Industry has given me a good insight into enterprise solutions. So, ideally would like to find a firm that invests in tech companies as well. I have a background in Finance and Economics and not so relevant to the VC Industry, but I am working towards the CFA certification as well. Have completed CFA Level 1 and now studying for Level 2.

Can anyone give me a good insight as in how I can approach potential VC firms for an Analyst/Associate role and how's the scope in Europe in general?

I don't know what a tech consultant does, so not sure how it relates to VC.

VC jobs are rare, not as common as other roles
You need a good amount of knowledge from an investment perspective in high-risk asset classes
VC investments are not common, at least not compared to the other investment areas of a bank/organization
You need to know the tech you are going to invest in, most startups are somehow linked to technology (not all though)

There are VC hot spots around Europe, google the key players, locations and industries.

it is very hard to break into VC, especially in an economic recession. Some industry areas are OK though.
