The Absolute Most Data-Backed Ways to Enter VC
There's a really cool blog post I found of a VC guy who analyzed 600+ VC professional bios and sorted their background data. According to the findings, Want to Get Into VC? Go to Stanford, Study Engineering, and be Named David -Link
Now before people actually go change their names to David, let me state that these conclusions can be deceiving. Unlike most other gigs in this forum, there is no typical path to VC and in reality most people don't even plan to enter VC, they "fall into it." Still, a few data points are super useful -> A BIG chunk of VC's came from Google, then JPMorgan at a distant second.
Any VC's here? How did you make your way in?
Hi ThatOtherGuy, any of these topics helpful:
If we're lucky, the following users may have something to say: bryson.bono liuyangqiuchen @Floss90"
Hope that helps.

I know quite a few VCs and former VCs who have been in the field for a while, and the only conclusion you can draw is that all of them are just ambitious people from every background. Though they typically are people who are from more prestigious universities, I think it has more to do with their nature as ambitious people who want to work for big firms or go to prestigious universities than them actually being awarded the opportunity because of their background.
