A lot of funds are sitting on the sidelines now waiting for valuations to stabilize. The issue right now is no one knows what's "normal". We're moving beyond a simple COVID correction - public multiples are down below what they were in early 2020, and they keep declining.

They aren’t on par with public valuations yet, but they are continuing to drop. Depending on what vertical / sector you’re focused on, a lot of top funds are trying to nail down the macro situation and are focused on helping operate their portfolio into sustainability during downturns. I think we still have another ~4-5 months of sideways markers and bearish attitude, which in my mind makes it a good time to try and deploy capital because there will be great businesses who need capital during this market and will be amenable to reasonable prices. And those rounds will likely be less competitive than before.

How do you feel about the growth size narrative of "we can toggle profitability" now?
