It depends a lot on what you define as surpass. Given the size of China's economy, it's possible that it's domestic AM industry could become extremely large in terms of FUM, but I struggle to envision a scenario in which it could ever eclipse the US industry given weak property rights and/or operational controls.
Good point. But I think the chinese government will be aware of the potential gains of fostering a global AM industry in the next decades. China property rights are still more assured than mainstream countries other people overestimate.
