I took the assessment like three weeks ago. Supposedly phone interviews start this month but I haven't heard anything since.

For sure, I'm not worrying too much about it though I do wish we got updates soon.

Gigantic red flag for this place. It is the only bank I say this for. The culture is absolutely toxic and from everything I've heard, the worst out of any known bank. They scrape up non-competitive deals so there is very solid flow which is good for experience, but otherwise I would avoid. There are plenty of horror stories and the CEO and upper management go out of their way to make the culture worse. Most analysts leave in under a year.

Prior to this year this would’ve been dead on accurate. However, I’ve spoken with a few of the analysts (first years going into year 2 with no intention of leaving for a year) in the class and they all say that there has been a significant positive shift in the culture and that the horror stories are largely in the past.

My reasoning for this is that since the firm-wide culture shift, ALL of the analysts that graduated a year ago are staying on to finish year two, they are bumping up intern pay to street average, there’s a solid comradery among the class and they feel like they’re having a great impact on improving the junior experience of the firm. just my $.02

Are they bumping up analyst pay too? I remember that being awfully low. I have still heard bad things from an almost direct source so not sure how much things really changed...

I have nothing against them, I'm just spitting facts.

I scheduled a first round here for my SA but ended up canceling once I got a better offer. Would 100% avoid if you have anything else remotely close to an IB offer at another firm, but people from AGC actually do lateral to decent shops after a year.

You’re basically giving up a year to work like a dog for shitty pay with hopes of a lateral chance. It’s not a great situation and I certainly would never choose to work here, but if you don’t land an offer anywhere else and are dead set on IB this can be a fall back option.

I also just had an awful experience with recruiting. Go to a target and had someone email me out of the blue to set up a first round interview (I never applied, no idea how they found me or knew I wanted IB). Sent back some times. Someone responded like 3 weeks later saying send your resume, I sent it, they then said they had received my application and would be in touch if I was selected for a first round (I literally never applied, they just emailed me saying they wanted to interview me). A few weeks later got an email that I was selected for a first round, I responded with some times for scheduling, didn’t hear back for another month. By the time someone actually sent me an interview time it was more than 2 months after their initial outreach and I’d already gotten another offer. Can’t imagine trying to deal with this place from beginning of recruiting process to the end, seemed like a completely disorganized mess.

Spot on. The transactional experience itself is not the bad part--they do actually have high volume. It is just the question of if you can/want to power through time there dealing with such an abyssal culture. If a kid who worked there reached out to me, I'd have respect just for him/her having the strength to deal with that.

I know for a fact that intern pay is still the same/not what the street pays. Interns get $2000 each month. Does anyone know what starting Analyst salaries are?

I had heard from recruiting that they would aim to send dates out by end of last week, but I didn't hear anything back after that. Hope they let us know soon.

Did anyone get the Early Decision application process email? Reading a lot of these comments makes me hesitant to continue...

No I haven't, my last communication was me sending my availability in July.

I have a second round interview coming up this week. Anybody else in a similar boat?

After waiting like two months to hear back about scheduling a first round interview I just got an email that I’m a “a very strong candidate” and all that but that I’m not going to get an interview. What a joke.
