Barclays Capital Generation Next Sophomore Programs (Diversity Question)

Hey quick question I am finishing up with applying for Barclays' GNSP and I was wondering since it is aimed for targeting underrepresented minorities. Am I screwed because I am a Caucasian male? When disclosing race should I choose the option to not disclose my ethnic background? Thanks I really appreciate it.

Yeah man. It's ridiculous at this pt. Considering using one of those one-off genealogy sites and finding a diversity candidate in my bloodline from 300 years ago so I can say I'm 1/32 non-white male

Even if you were 100% Egyptian I don't think you'd qualify as an underrepresented minority. North Africans, for census, educational, and business purposes are categorized as Arab/Middle Eastern/Caucasian. All of which are all well represented in the industry so I don't think you'd count.

My phone interview is on Thursday for only 15 minutes. I am not sure why I got it early but I just got it yesterday so im sure the rest will follow. Also, they started interviewing yesterday and they end the interviews on Friday. So im not sure if that means anything for people who haven't gotten it yet.

When you did your phone interview, did interviewer introduced him/herself? indicating which firm she is calling from?

My phone interview did not happen yet, it is going to happen on Thursday. I don't believe this is an additional one since this is the first one I will have participated in. I believe we are talking about the same interview. I wouldn't be worried if I were you since we have made it as finalist. I checked the website and it said all finalist will be notified no later than Thursday. Therefore, if they are still doing screens until Friday (the day after notifications) then I would assume people selected for screens should be in. Yet, I am not absolutely sure of course but this is my logic given the time frame.

Do you guys go to target/semi-target/non target schools? If I didn't get an interview, does that mean I have no chance?

Yeah, I applied to Citi SOARS. I actually had a phone interview the day after Barclays...so I kinda knew what to expect and how to prepare for the phone interview. I have no idea what I'm gonna do to prepare for Citi. I'll probably prepare really heavily for behavioral questions. Tomorrow's the super day but I can't go because of final exams, so I'll be going to an S&T super day some time next week instead.

I got an email today saying we will be reached by Monday. Haven't heard anything regarding a phone screening. I'm assuming rejection since I am from a non-target.
