Barclays London IBD - Best Groups
I have a SA offer for Barclays and was wondering what the best groups are in terms of prestige, exit opps, deal flow, WL balance, culture etc. I've seen a lot of talk about this in the WSO forums but couldn't find anything for London specifically. Any idea what the best groups are for exits?
I've heard mentions of UK M&A but have been told that the sector teams do M&A in house so not sure what role they play exactly.

Any insights into the types of exits from these groups and how well people place?
Typical PE shops: top 10% may have a shot at bigger names (think Carlyle...) and most of them at MM PE firms
Seems like a lot the P&U groups in London are pretty sweaty? Citi as well
Mostly got to due with the complexity of models (ie modeling at the asset level) compared to the other industries.

FIG doesn't have horrible hours (13-14 per day on average) and exits can be decent; know someone who lined up interviews for FIG teams at MFs
FIG, CRG and Real Estate are strong groups from what I've heard, LevFin and DCM in IBD perform well in EMEA too if you are not focus on M&A
