Breakwater Trading

Breakwater Trading is a subsidiary of Breakwater Capital. I've never heard of it, but they use "core strength in technology" to trade Fixed Income products. They're located in Chicago. Sounds like an SIG wannabe, and they have a picture of apples on their website.

Don't know too much about them but from what I do know they're pretty legit, trade futures & options I'd definitely talk to them / check them out if you get the chance.

Mostly people trading interest rate futures. They do trade a variety of securities. I believe they have a group running some black box equity strategies that came over from Bear Stearns after Bear blew up. However, I do not believe they are active in options at all. And if they are, they're a negligible options player. Honestly, after talking to a number of people who worked there, it sounds like an arcade with people spreading 10 year futures against the cash.

I heard they are running into trouble. Possibly a big trader blowing out from the recent move in treasuries. Anyone know more?

Breakwater is mostly fixed income futures. Not a particularly great place. The U.S. fixed income traders have been getting killed since the fed destroyed front-end volatility. Very little arbitrage opportunity.
