Bucknell's Student Managed Investment Fund

So I'm a senior at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. Just to provide some background.. It's ranked 30 on U.S. News' liberal arts rankings - which having spoken with the president of the university personally about it, I think are more or less determined on an endowment-per-student basis. You could say it's a semi-target. Student body of around 3500.
Anyhow, students concentrating on finance with in the management curriculum are afforded the opportunity to participate in a course called the Student Managed Investment Fund. There’s a selective application process and the class-size is limited to 12 students.
The 12 students, of which I am one, actively manage a portfolio of equities, fixed-income and REITS for the University’s endowment. We currently have $100s of thousands under management.
I've been told by alumni that the class is the first of its kind – it was started back in 1999.
Purpose of this post to try to generate some interest in this type of class, and I was wondering if anybody else has taken anything like it. If you have any questions about it feel free to post them here.

Your alumni are incorrect. Lots of schools have these programs. I go to Lehigh, and we have 3 different student managed funds with distinct investment parameters, asset class constraints, and levels of selectivity for applicants from the student body.

What he meant was that Bucknell had it first. Today many schools have one, but when Bucknell did it, it was the first of its kind. Thats all.
What was the point of this post? And why is your US News ranking even relevant to this conversation? When I considered going to Bucknell, it was because Playboy said you had the hottest female student body.
Yeah. We do. I was trying to provide some framework for the type of school it is. I bet drexel was sweet.
