Can we get a STICKY for our RE board for a) Underwriting models to be posted/shared; b) Current salary comps across industry
What do you guys think? This would be very useful to many of us.

I second this
Would be fantastic. Email the moderator? It would need restrictions on who can post what though. Could get hairy fast.
agree - informational posts only. would be fantastic - I have a ton of stuff to share as well.
You're not going to get much more accurate than this for salary comps: http://celassociates.com/national-real-estate-compensation-benefits-sur…
You're welcome =)
Maybe they could assign a mod to that sticky to keep things less hairy and more kosher.
The upside for all of us to increase our skill-sets and even shop-talk the fundamentals or finer points of a deal (as presented in an uploaded excel model) would be incredible. And, having a sticky here would be more convenient/fluid than say if we all agreed on a dedicated off-site Dropbox to aggregate our collective excel models/interesting deal sheets/educational resources/etc..
.
@AndyLouis @WallStreetOasis
Maybe we can create an off-site collective dropbox for all our models in the interim.

I don't think the need is great enough to do something sidestepping WSO - just my input. WSO could have a new thread in a minute.
I would definitely be interested in looking at how other firms model up their deals. Let's make this happen.
Best route is probably just to make the thread and then ask for it to be stickied once it delivers
I would be very interested in this as well.
Did we ever get this done? I have much to share and hopefully learn.
I'm also very interested as well. I think this could be really beneficial.
I spoke to Andy (WallStreetOasis.com>[email protected]) as discussed.
He said that if (assuming we) email him our respective underwriting models with a link to this thread, it could be attached.
So no direct upload, but a quick email with link to Andy. Sounds good to me.

So no direct upload feature as of yet, but a quick email attachment with link to Andy.
Sounds good to me. Let's get started.
I submitted my underwriting model last night. We will see if it makes it on here.
any updates on this? bumping to keep the process going.
I emailed Andy and never heard back....
Is there any update on this? I have a handful of different models I could share. Would be helpful.
I am thinking we can also have a list of each member and their role to take advantage of any business/networking opportunities...similar to how that "Creating a Deal Board" thread looks.
I have models to submit as well... did this ever get started?
Agreed! Sharing models would be incredibly helpful!
Bump... I like this. Any word on progress?
This would make the board even more indispensable (and unique). Hands down support.
Let's do this. I have models to share.
Bump to this: I have industry level models to kick in.
Yes let's do this, or in the meantime set up a dropbox folder.
Also willing to share.
acquisitions/Asset Management guy here so I have both models to share.
Short Answer: Yes - bumping this. And, will definitely share a good array of models.
Longer Answer: I think this thread shows a serious interest in getting a sticky with model box on our board or having someone set up a interim one via dropbox until WSO gets ours up and running. If security is an issue we can pass a dropbox entry code (am assuming this is how it works) to key RE-WSO members to be disseminated upon active board member request (to stave off any random via net access, etc).
Bump - Can we move forward with implementation the DropBox? I've been contacting individuals on the board for models but it would be great to have a central location. I'll be starting as an acquisitions analyst in January and would love to give back.
Would participate as well. Would love to see other's models too.
Would participate. Have models to share.
Certainly would participate
Monkeys -
I've tried to post the link to the dropbox, but WSO is blocking it because I don't have enough points. Could someone PM me with more points and I'll send them the link.
password: remodels
I'm not sure how to allow someone I'm sharing the link w/ to edit it. If anyone knows please relay on. In the meantime I have a intern here who is collecting dust and is willing to upload these into the dropbox if you PM to me.
We've added a few of ours within. Let me know if anyone has any issues accessing.
PM'ed you about this.

As I mentioned to a few of you on PM, there doesn't seem to be a way in dropbox to allow a user to edit the folder if they are accessing it via password. If anyone knows how to get around this please let me know or PM me the model and will add to the file. I have a few of mine in there currently.
Password: remodels
Send me the models. I'll upload into the DB.
is google drive too unsecure?
ping
I've got things to upload too if someone can advise how to upload.
This seems really interesting. A way of getting around the password issue is simply to just leave it open and have the files number labeled. Then have a running thread here that says what each number is.
i.e. 1 - X hotel acquisition 2 - X NNN single tennant development
etc.
This way anyone can add files and you have a bit more anonymity in the drop box.
Does anyone have completed Kahr real estate models? I'd be willing to trade BIWS models. PM if you are interested.
Same goes for me. BTW if you haven't listened to his courses on iTunes U or vimeo, I highly recommend them.
I've been trying to get my hands on an open air mall/retail development model. I'm looking at developing a property for the first time and want to the due diligence on the GPs model to make sure it holds up.
All: I'd love to participate in this. I'm currently sitting in a Corporate Treasury department position at a large institutional bank, but actively searching for Analyst/Underwriting position to gain exposure into Capital Markets within CRE. How do I get access to these models? I'd love to learn more about them to help me gain knowledge in this industry to further my career.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
I made the move from CT at a BB to cmbs/real estate analyst in last few months. PM me with any questions
The password doesn't seem to work for me. Comes back with an error. Please can you confirm how to get access. I have a few models I can upload.
Cheers
Does anyone know how to let people edit in DB if i share the link on the wall? I know I can collaborate w/ others to edit, but I'd have to send them the collaboration email.
I believe if i send out a link it only allows everyone to view.
Would love to revive this. Any leads on sharing here? I have some to give.

I created a dummy account in google drive. This should be good to go. If anyone has trouble editing let me know.
^^^
Thanks for this very helpful. I was trying to use my old (very old, from 2008!) lbo model for my new real estate venture but it didn't really fit too well as really not very RE focused. Using the multi-family model for a portfolio of apartments so should work. Thanks again.
Thanks a lot buddy!! This was really helpful.
The PW for the dropbox wasn't "remodels"?
Don't use the dropbox anymore. Below is the link for the google drive. No password needed, but need to have a gmail account to add/view I believe.

Google drive folder shows up empty for me
Added a few of the models from dropbox to the google drive. Lets see if we can build out a solid folder for the WSO community.
pinging this. This is finally working and models are in the google drive. Please add.
Just an FYI - this is active and models are being loaded into. Please add.
The REFM model for MF is a little overkill. Does anyone have one that's a mix between fully detailed and a back of the envelope?
yes
Or any development (multi-fam if possible) that're simpler than REFM.
I second this
I dislike the multiple input screens on REFM, along with not being able to individually allocated post renovation rents to each unit, along with your own expense assumptions that are not based on T-12. I could build it in myself but I suspect I'll break it over and over again and give up (I already tried....)
Does anyone have any self storage models they'd be willing to share in the drive?
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5QD2Kz4n4a4UmlYSlRfVi1mNVU&usp…

Is there any update on this? New monkey here and would love to learn from all of you. Cheers

I attached the link again for the google drive for the models.
Hi - does anyone have an multi-tenant industrial model they are willing to share?
Thanks!
This is a great thread and sorely needed by our community. Whoever added the three models there - much appreciated.
If each person on this thread could pledge just +one single model+, we would have a solid collection by years end.
Adventures in CRE blog has a 15 to 20 free models. Real Estate Financial Modeling probably has 20 free BOTE models. Neither are full blown out models although the Adventures in CRE ones come close.
MF modeling test added to the drive.
I just put on a mixed use development model. No formulas (which sucks), but maybe someone will find it helpful.
