Food for thought: if her boyfriend was so far gone as to overdose on drugs and booze, chances are he's lived a high-risk lifestyle (IV drug use, etc...). Even if this works out for you, you'll probably end up with a touch of the HIV, which would more or less serve you right.

I didn't see the original post as OP edited it, but if it was as described earlier, what wrong did OP actually commit? 1) The bf did have problems so it's not like OP lied 2) He had nothing to do with what happened to the bf, and the girl's current emotional state is not OP's fault 3) If nailing her makes both him AND her feel better, what's the big deal? 4) If OP just met the girl for the first time now, and knew nothing about her ex, would it be wrong for him to nail her?
If your answer to #4 is no, why should knowing about the ex cause an emotional dilemma for OP?

He had concocted a plan to get his friend's girlfriend's best friend. Problem was she had a boyfriend. So instead of being a decent human being and moving aside to let them enjoy the time they were having or had together, he, like a slimy little bastard, made up lies about how he was no good for her, had alcohol problems amongst others.
Unfortunately, he, the boyfriend died from an overdose of drugs and drink. And he is seeking advice on how to sleep with the poor girl.
I feel really bad for the girl. Not only did she have trouble choosing men but severe problems in the company of men she keeps.

Thinking this over and realizing that OP is a kid who probably just got infatuated with someone else's girl and then couldn't resist temptation, I'm thinking harsh judgement isn't really called for, even though he's making it SO easy and fun. He didn't hurt anyone, even if his intentions were far less than honorable, and should view this as a learning experience. OP - be supportive to this girl if you actually care, but otherwise, do no harm and just move on with your life....you're just starting out and you don't need this kind of drama.
