Consulting vs PE in Asia

Have offer with local PE fund and offer with MBB lined up.

Fund is relatively new and hasn't realized any investments yet but has goal of becoming a major player in its space. Pay is below market with potential for upside down the line as fund grows.

Have offer with MBB also in same geographical region but pay is twice as much. Pros are more varied options down the line and global mobility if I decide to come back.

Leaning towards the PE fund at this point as I m probably going to end up in a similar maybe slightly better fund. I guess the fear is taking a risk and pigeonholing myself too early.

Also coming from ibd background.

Appreciate thoughts. Thanks.

Thanks. Mainly sick of the ibd lifestyle. MBB seems exciting at first but I m sure I ll get tired of the traveling. Main consideration even if I do consulting I ll prob transition out something else in a few yrs. Don't care about pay too much at this point.

Question is do I bother to so the stint or just go straight to buy side?

Is there mobility within buy side or will the fund I jump to now limit my choices in the future.
