Corp Finance in Accounting Firms
Hi WSO members! I wanted to ask a few questions about the corporate finance service lines in large accounting firms. Would be great to get insights from people who have been there. I think it would help
1) How long did you stay, why did you quit and where did you exit to? (e.g. IB, PE)
2) What was your experience like after moving out? Do you feel that the Corporate Finance experience helped your future career?
3) How much jump did you see in your pay?
4) What kind of challenges did you face while moving out?
I've read a few posts and noticed that they're quite old or do not address these questions explicitly. I thought having answers to these would help people understand these better. Any insights would be appreciated! Thank you.
ZedEx, sorry there are no responses yet. Maybe one of these topics can point you in the right direction:

Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.
1) About 2 years, left right before ass/senior promo. Exit: REPE
2) 100% helped and I'm sure will continue to help me align with strategy/finance roles, which is especially important for someone coming out of an accounting undergrad (as many folks at B4 CF tend to)
3) Upon exiting? I left for an 84% increase in base + target bonus
4) None. Just had meeting with coach first to let him know, then gave notice to one of the partners. Rest of process was very streamlined. Turnover from B4 is super high so it won't be a surprise to anyone.
Thank you for sharing those insights!
