Just watched "Bad Education" on HBO last night. Pretty interesting.

Westworld this season has been fantastic.

My fiancee got me into Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu and it was solid.

Tiger King was absurd and I couldn't stop watching it.

Watched some Vietnam movies that for some reason I never watched * Apocalypse Now * Platoon * Full Metal Jacket

After this got on a military training video kick. The best series by far was "Commando: On the Front Lines" about British recruits training to be Royal Marines Commandos. Follows one training class from Day 1 of boot camp through deploying (and fighting) in Afghanistan. The 55 year old cameraman completed the same grueling training as the recruits and was directly under fire when deployed. What a stud! Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.

One of his very best. It's one of those films that really captures emotional contradictions in people. Midnight Cowboy is also incredible if you haven't seen it. You'll see in those films a Times Square that was like a dangerous wasteland which stunned me when I thought about the one I was exposed to. Not sure if Times Square now is intrinsically better, just different lol

just started to read moneyball, gotta see how the book stacks up

Netflix: Interview, Step Brothers, Hangover, Django Unchained, Matrix (full series), The Social Network, Inglorious Bastards, Extraction (wasn’t crazy about tbh)

Prime: Rambo (newest), misc. Avengers movies, Drive, Warrior, I am Legend (very timely lol), 12 Strong

Hulu: Parasite (in Korean but good), Vice, Big Time Adolescence

if you’re looking for a show, Outer Banks is the best show on Netflix rn imo, definitely beats out Ozarks/Money Heist

kingdom of heaven - pretty underrated for a movie with great visuals and storyline. dances with wolves, no country for old men, citizen kane, pulp fiction, lord of the rings, hold the dark

my so hasn't seen a lot of these so we're making our way down the list

Saw Parasite which was amazing. Been watching Ozark (show) which brought me to watching this older film starring the actress of one of the main characters called You Can Count on Me. That last movie I think is going into my top 2 all time favorites. One of the few movies really about people.

Some good ones that are on Netflix/Hulu/HBO

Movies -

  • Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (only one on this list that you can't get on a streaming service)

  • The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (yes I like westerns)

  • Inception

  • The Patriot (essentially Braveheart)

  • Monty Python and the Holy Grail (you'd be surprised by how many people haven't seen this)

TV Shows -

  • The Last Dance (need a cable login but amazing)

  • Catch-22 (generally not a fan of book turned movies, but they do a really good job)

  • Silicon Valley

  • Money Heist (Watch with Spanish audio and English subtitles, best without dubbing)
