Not a movie but only thing I've watched is Tiger King
Whiplash City of god The debt collector (1999) 25th hour
Just watched "Bad Education" on HBO last night. Pretty interesting.
Westworld this season has been fantastic.
My fiancee got me into Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu and it was solid.
Tiger King was absurd and I couldn't stop watching it.
White Flag by Dido in credits caught me off guard.
Just rewatched Interstellar for the 4th time last night. Movie is amazing everytime I see it
“Gotta pump those numbers up.”
Watched some Vietnam movies that for some reason I never watched * Apocalypse Now * Platoon * Full Metal Jacket
After this got on a military training video kick. The best series by far was "Commando: On the Front Lines" about British recruits training to be Royal Marines Commandos. Follows one training class from Day 1 of boot camp through deploying (and fighting) in Afghanistan. The 55 year old cameraman completed the same grueling training as the recruits and was directly under fire when deployed. What a stud! Watch Chinatown brah
^high quality rec
Loved it until the ending
Watched and re-watched so many film these days: - The Big Short - Collateral Beauty - We were soldiers - The last samurai - The gladiator - Hitch - ...
TV Series: - Suits - Scrubs (I know it is old but it is so funny and relaxing, really good for this period imo)
Just recently watched The Last Samurai for the first time. It’s gonna be my Halloween costume.
Collateral Beauty, another banger. Considering Will Smith for Halloween too.
Dr. Cox made Scrubs!
I've been watching some old movies I just haven't seen before - Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, Midnight Run. The next ones on my list are the Godfathers plus a couple of the Sean Connery James Bonds.
I’ve been meaning to watch Taxi Driver. How’d Dinero do?
One of his very best. It's one of those films that really captures emotional contradictions in people. Midnight Cowboy is also incredible if you haven't seen it. You'll see in those films a Times Square that was like a dangerous wasteland which stunned me when I thought about the one I was exposed to. Not sure if Times Square now is intrinsically better, just different lol
Moneyball, the Truman show, the words, the commuter, john carpenter's VAMPIRES, Escape From NY, Book of Eli, I Am Legend, V for Vendetta, Zodiac, Nightcrawler, Out of Shadows, Angels & Demons.
just started to read moneyball, gotta see how the book stacks up
Michael Lewis doesn't mess around
the book is amazing!
Netflix: Interview, Step Brothers, Hangover, Django Unchained, Matrix (full series), The Social Network, Inglorious Bastards, Extraction (wasn’t crazy about tbh)
Prime: Rambo (newest), misc. Avengers movies, Drive, Warrior, I am Legend (very timely lol), 12 Strong
Hulu: Parasite (in Korean but good), Vice, Big Time Adolescence
if you’re looking for a show, Outer Banks is the best show on Netflix rn imo, definitely beats out Ozarks/Money Heist
Django is badass.
Extraction on Netflix, Enemy at the gates and The Platform.
Contagion Outer Banks Defending Jacob Last Man Standing Breaking Bad Arkansas Bad Education Shooting Heroin
I Am Legend.
Empty streets, apocalypse, etc.
Apocalypse is legendary.
kingdom of heaven - pretty underrated for a movie with great visuals and storyline. dances with wolves, no country for old men, citizen kane, pulp fiction, lord of the rings, hold the dark
Also thought the Korean directed Kingdom and Parasite were both pretty good
Parasite was awesome. Kingdom is worth the watch?
Money Heist/Casa de Papel, about a gang breaking into Spain's Royal Mint - it's in Spanish with subtitles. We are hooked, it's got many elements from things like "Inside Man" and the "Ocean's" movies and other ensemble "the big robbery" type shows and movies.
Before the Devil Knows You're Dead Melancholia Florida Project (to be watched this weekend but I know it will be good) Mother The Host Anything created by Bon Joon-ho Lady Bird Probably watch Point Break again soon There's a lot I'm forgetting but yeah all good stuff.
Haven't seen Snowpiercer yet, was that any good?
I actually saw this years ago before I was a Bon Joon-ho snob and didn't really pay attention, so I can't really say. It's on my rewatch list though
my so hasn't seen a lot of these so we're making our way down the list
No country Willy wonka Donny darko Snatch Fight club Rushmore American psycho parasite the lighthouse goodfellas devils advocate scent of a women boiler room rounders goodwill hunting dazed and confused Superbad American History x Terminator / Terminator 2 reservoir dogs Lost in translation memento the usual suspects The town Shawshank Blade Runner Fargo Gladiator Borat boogie nights Star Wars once upon a time in Hollywood mystic river silence of the lambs Margin Call Social network Lord of the rings Ford v Ferrari To Rome with love
Christian Bales shit accent ruined Ford V Ferrari for me
Lol you idiot that’s his real accent. He’s British and that’s how he actually talks.
The Scent of Woman watched me once. I need to re-watch it and dial in.
Waco on Netflix was surprisingly interesting
just finished that last weekend, that was really good imo
sleeper hit
If you want a good COVID movie, watch 28 Weeks Later, or maybe Children of Men.
succession by HBO
Monkey shit.
Saw Parasite which was amazing. Been watching Ozark (show) which brought me to watching this older film starring the actress of one of the main characters called You Can Count on Me. That last movie I think is going into my top 2 all time favorites. One of the few movies really about people.
Downfall, very interesting perspective on the final days of the Third Reich
Movies - Margin Call The Big Short Black Hawk Down Saving Private Ryan Frozen 1 and 2 (have a 2 year old daughter) Nolan’s Batman Trilogy
TV Shows - Band of Brothers Tiger King The Boys Jack Ryan Mad Men
Frozen? I forgive you.
Outbreak - great “fictional” movie....
I just finished watching the Rocky movies, I love them so much. I'm going to do The Expendables next!
Congrats. You officially have the eye of the tiger.
Some good ones that are on Netflix/Hulu/HBO
Movies -
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (only one on this list that you can't get on a streaming service)
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (yes I like westerns)
Inception
The Patriot (essentially Braveheart)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (you'd be surprised by how many people haven't seen this)
TV Shows -
The Last Dance (need a cable login but amazing)
Catch-22 (generally not a fan of book turned movies, but they do a really good job)
Silicon Valley
Money Heist (Watch with Spanish audio and English subtitles, best without dubbing)
