Hours at BlackRock?
Anyone have any experience in terms of hours for a summer analyst/full time analyst first year out of college at BlackRock working either in portfolio management group or BlackRock alternative investors?
If you summered/work there full time how do you like it?
Thanks!
I have a close friend who works at Blackrock. He says his hours aren't too bad at all, not banking hours by any means. He is extremely happy where he is. Before his MBA he worked in PWM and hated it, but loves Blackrock. Not sure if this helps.
Thanks Pike - I guess I'd love maybe an approximate number or weekly average? Also, do you mind me asking what group/division your friend is in?
Thanks!
I have a friend there as well. It's not banking, but it doesn't seem like a walk in the park either. He has told me on Sundays that he was still in the office.
There are a lot of critical comments on Glassdoor about overtime. It looks like 60-70 hour weeks are a rough average (which obviously varies depending on your division and rank) -- not investment banking hours, but not a cushy 9-5 job either.

Hi,
I recently received an internship offer from BlackRock's Multi Asset Strategies Group. I was told it is a FoF as opposed to direct investing. I wanted to know if that seems accurate to anyone familiar with the group? I was also wondering what the hours for a summer analyst would be for a group like that?
Thanks!
