How to Maximize Conference Experience

Hello, there is a large business conference this upcoming April in NYC. Around 250 students are being flown in and housed for the weekend, and around 75 firms are sending staff there. This will be by first time in NYC in 7 years, and the first conference I am attending. Looking to move to BB IB NYC from an internship at a MM well known firm (HL/Baird). Most interested in Citi + GS as well as industrial/power/NR coverage groups.

What are your thoughts on how to maximize this experience? I don't really know what recruiters will expect from us.

Clearly, I will need a strong elevator pitch, know about the firms, and bring lots of resumes. In addition to the scheduled events, I am trying to meet up for coffee or lunch with 5 people.

More about the conference:

At GS' HQ the first week in April.

BBs include: GS, JPM, MS, BAC, C, DB, UBS, Barclays

EBs include: EVR, Moelis, Lazard, PJT, Jefferies, Centerview

PE/HF: BX, KKR, CD&R, AQR, BridgewaterAres, Permira, Warburg Pincus, Bain Capital, Centerbridge, Oaktree, Vista, Carlyle, TPG

Other: CIA, Federal Reserve, Microsoft, MBB, PIMCO, BlackRock
