How to raise capital for a crypto fund?
Hi Everyone. Looking if anyone knows the best way to help raise money for a crypto fund as I was approached by my friend to help him.
Right now the main strategy is market making, with very high returns on the MM side (with current data, the market making portion is returning 30-40%+ annually before fees based off of current results (6 months or so)). 20% or so exposure to bitcoin at any given moment with more downside protection as well.
We have the option to run the algo to someone's exchange wallet as well if they would like as well for large amounts of capital.
They are quants without a network of UHNW and previous experience as cryptocurrency quants, hence not knowing how to raise especially with the odd non-solicitation rules is a big barrier.
The data speaks for itself and is impressive, so I'm curious of ways to get in front of people who would be open and aren't scared of the word "cryptocurrency". Wondering if there are events where this happens or even if contacting current fund managers might be a good idea -- or maybe even something else I am not thinking of.
Thanks!
