Did you pay for the 'mentoring session'? How'd you go about setting it up and why does it seem strange?

if you’re paying for mentorship you’re not getting a real mentor. you’re paying for a service.

I signed up for his program and it is not worth it at all. Especially if you’re trying to get into IB. Save your money and go get Wall Street prep like the person above said.

noticed the comments from some friends...I figured I would chime in. I was thinking originally it was a scam at first, but I am going through it now. It is not bad. Modeling equities and a portfolio based upon items I am seeing in the cfa

It is absolutely a fraud. Take a look on LinkedIn and check the experience of the guys who run it. They try and create an illusion that they have actual knowledge but their experience says otherwise. The "portfolio manager" was an investment consultant at TD Ameritrade in Pennsylvania, is that really the guy you want to be learning analysis and modeling from?

They act like they run a fund and mentor on the side but clearly they do not have any clients and do not manage money. As for the "alumni", a quick LinkedIn search will show that it is all college students trying to break through. Why would you pay $75 dollars a month for access to college kids who would pay $75 a month for this program in the first place.

Fraud

I interviewed with their head PM guy (ILE) under the belief that it was a free mentorship program.

Interview consisted of the guy telling me about the origins of the program and how he really wants to help underprivileged kids in the community and help the finance industry become more accessible. He then started asking me some complex theoretical finance stuff, which he was baffled I could actually answer and got annoyed every time I answered something right. This continued until he asked me something super niche about derivatives, which I didn’t have a clue wtf he was talking about, and then he hopped all over my inability to answer that, talked on about how much he could help me learn, and dropped the bomb that the program was like nearly $1k (I can’t remember the specific number but it was something insane). Also, he said for that price he’d devote like an hour of his time every week to personally working with me. Not sure how any legit PM has the time to work individually with the dozens of kids they have in their program while actually working as a PM.

This guy is clearly a scammer who masquerades as some impressive PM and takes advantage of naive non-target kids who are super hopeful about getting Wall Street careers. The interview is actually just a 1 hour long sales pitch to get you invested and make you feel incompetent when you can’t answer something. Don’t pay an insane amount of money to anyone who parades around about how they want to help underprivileged kids and then charges those kids $1k to work with them. LMAO.

I recently completed the program and honetsly I have to say it was a great experience. It was a bit of a learning curve at first as I had no previous experience with finance or trading. However, the lectures and resources given by the program were very helpful. There are several investing challenges that take place in which people can put their knowledge to the test and win a monetary prize.

I initially interviewed for the mentorship program in 2019 and was not sold on the mission or value that it offered me. In all transparency, though I didn't feel it was a scam, I certainly had my doubts. I questioned the cost, how the curriculum was actually structured, and decided to not move forward with the program. After graduating this past spring, I saw more ads for the IvyLine Investment & Derivative Program populate on my LinkedIn feed. I did more exploring and realized that one of my close friends that I grew up with had recently graduated from the program and was helping promote it to new students. I reached out to him and spoke 1-1 about what the curriculum actually entailed and whether this was actually a worthwhile investment. He had nothing but great things to say about the program and I took him up on his word. Having validation from someone I know and respect personally gave me the assurance to apply. Like many others with time to spare during quarantine, I sought out the I&D program as a unique, remote educational experience to further my knowledge of investing. I particularly took a lot away from the sections on portfolio construction, technical analysis, and derivative strategies, as these are areas that I was not formally taught during my time in school and had limited exposure to. As I'm currently preparing for the CFA exams, I'm pleased to see how much the I&D program has given me a solid background of the CFA curriculum. Outside the self-paced learning program, I greatly appreciated the networking opportunities offered to students. We had informative and engaging weekly lectures and guest speakers who offered a breadth of experience and knowledge in finance. I truly believe that the I&D program was a tremendous benefit and I'm grateful to be a part of the cohort.

Can anyone who is apart of the mentoring program inform us on the AUM of IvyLine? Would love to know how much capital they deploy, how many LPs they have, as well as what the average returns are.

Would love to hear from the IvyLine kids on this one, if you guys don't know I would highly encourage you to ask the people who are scamming you.
