J.P. Morgan's Junior Investment Banking Program

Hi, does anybody have experience with J.P. Morgan's 2016 Junior Analyst Investment Banking Program offered in NYC/Chicago/San Francisco?

Thanks in advance!

Info on JP Morgan Junior Analyst Program

The JP Morgan Junior Analyst Program is a one-year program designed to help candidates develop core investment banking skills. You’ll learn about:

  • Financial analysis valuation and models
  • Research
  • Helping with Pitches

While participation in this program could lead to a full-time offer, it’s not guaranteed. However, even if you don’t get an offer with JPM, you’ll still have a year of investment banking experience and training to add to your resume.

The program has been discussed thoroughly on the WSO investment banking forum (see Related Reading). A few past participants share their experience here:

WSO Certified User @Walker Texas Banker" shares his experience:

  • 1 yr contract as a "trial period" to see if you can hack it
  • Comp: 80K base + discounted bonus
  • Multiple phone screenings/superday
  • Get to choose your top three groups and then you are matched based on interview success and need
  • More interviews over the phone (I personally had 4 additional interviews + case study)
  • Another visit to the group

Guessing you did this last year? Is the process for choosing groups the same as for SA's going for full time? Just wondering if the junior analyst program has it's own headcount reserved or not. What was the case study like?

I am just wondering what the time frame will be for this year. It seems that the recruiting process will start earlier than last year. The application deadline mentioned on their Website is Jan 22. DOES anyone have information or already get a call from them?

I got invited to apply last month after a summer information session. People who applied for the November video presentation on JPM Careers most likely got a similar invitation since it required you to submit a resume first.

Has your application status updated or changed yet?

From talking to current analysts this thread gives you a great summary; http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/jp-morgan-junior-ib-analyst-progr…
