JPM FIG Exits

how are the exits from this group especially when you cover the more unique verticals like banks/insurance, and would exits be better if you were at BOFA and in FIG covering fintech vertical? interning at BOFA in FIG and interviewing for JPM FIG FT analyst role

Fintech has very nice opportunities and BofA is one of the main players in the market if not the largest player. Very global team with a very nice head of team that is usually helpful with its juniors.

JP FIG, on the other hand is also a pretty good opportunity but mainly focuses on insurance in Europe and banking in certain ME countries where its very strong.

I would take 9/10 days the BofA offer if you can secure Fintech, which can also help you to transition to TMT if you dont like FIG. If you cant secure it, it would depend on your nationality, as thats another main factor and both banks differ on their main geographical presence.

Thanks for your detailed answer, but guess you are wrong...

I see that there is too little knowledge of how FIG works here as its pretty different from other sectors.

Usually there is a real "dominator" by region, as there as MDs tend to specialize in a specific country/region (there are usually some insurance specific MDs that support coverage tho) that are well-regarded and tend to do most deals in the region based on its credentials and knowledge. Thats why you will usually see large differences in country-specific league tables in different countries.

Its not about a released deal but the pipeline and bake offs that have happened in the last 6 months in the ME which, if nothing changes, will lead to new deals announced in the following 6-9 months

If you were working at any large FIG player you would know that a large portion of EMEA FIG fees from JP come from ME and that its a very interesting region with high-potential. Cant say more without going into specific potential deals or releasing insider information, but every FIG banker knows this

At BofA conversion rate tends to be lower than in some other groups as the work is quite more technical which leads to some people to not understand what they are doing in such a short period

That also means that it usually has quite a few spots for FT / Laterals
