Kellogg MS in Management Studies(MSMS) program.
Hi guys,
I recently came across a new MS in Mgmt Studies program at Kellogg. Trying to find some information about the program other than what's already mentioned on the website. Since it's a new program, wondering whether to apply for it or not. Being an international, placements are a big concern.
What do you guys think?
Please feel free to share anything you might know about it.
Thanks in advance!
Only available to Kellogg UG's. It's been around for over a year now, but they tightly control the info that gets out there. I've been in contact with them and I think sometime in the future they might open the degree up to non NW students.
The program's been around for a couple years now but remains for Northwestern undergrads only. If you don't go to NU already you probably wanna look at other programs now.
Yeah. Been looking at others as well. It's a pity, really. Was looking forward to apply for it. Not many programs like this in the US apart from Duke!
Notre Dame, Michigan, Duke, Wake Forest.
Thanks for the heads up. Know of these as well. Being an international, I am only aiming for the target schools since the aim is to get into IB post the program. The program at Ross is new but I'll still apply for it.
Not so sure about Notre Dame or Wake Forest.
What kind of gmat scores would be required?
For the kellogg MS management *
Was just taking a look at this - appears that the program is no longer limited to NU students.
I wrote to the Program director Melanie Wright to confirm this. The program is indeed open to non NU grads now. Great news! Any idea how it'll shape up? Thinking about applyng in Round 1. @"TNA" Would be immensely helpful if you could do a review and post it on your webiste!
If I am aiming to get into a top MSF program but still intend on applying to Duke MMS does anyone have an opinion on if this program and Michigan MMS are worth applying to as well?
What kind of gmat scores would be required?
Do you guys know which other colleges in the US have ms management degrees?
I'll ping my contact there and get some more information. This is a pretty recent development as I talked with them maybe 3-4 months ago and they were pretty firm about this being an in house program only. Glad they decided to open this up.
Any updates?
Hi I'm interested in this program as well. My main concern is whether the students in this program will get the same access to career services as the undergrads/ MBA at Kellogg? I think everyone who applies to this type of program wants to get a job in the end so job placement matters a lot.
Yeah I just glanced at the website and found some student facts, but no employment report. Would be curious to see the job chances here?
p.s. looks like you get kellogg's CMC. That said, I under how this works? I doubt you'd be able to get the same jobs as kellogg CMC has posted for post-MBA. I wonder would MBB come to kellogg for post-undergrad roles and recruit from MS program? No idea.
Seriously currently wondering that as well...
Has anyone applied?
Anyone put in for round 1?
@"sammyboy" I applied Round 1. Have an Interview this Thursday. How about you?
I haven't heard back as yet. Do they usually take this long?
Don't think so. I heard back within a few days of submitting the application to schedule an interview. When did you apply?

They might have pushed your app to Round 2. Did you upload the unofficial score report just to be safe? From what I recall, it was clearly written in the app that they interview each candidate but the website says otherwise.
You should write to them to clarify the issue.
yes i uploaded the unofficial report. Should i clarify though?
No harm in writing an email.
Thanks
Hey, I'm thinking of applying for round 2. What do they ask during the interview? Just behavioral?
Sure, Thanks! Did you write them an email? What'd they say?
Did they ask about career goals? Or "Why Kellogg"?
I'm an alumni interviewer for MBA business schools ">M7 MBA program and these are pretty standard. Surprised they weren't discussed -- maybe the MS program is a bit different
Hi, I just got the interview from MSMS. Is the interview for everyone or just selected?
Hi, I just got the interview from MSMS. Is the interview for everyone or just selected?
"We try to interview everyone" is what I was told when I asked the same question.
Hi, I just called them. They told me only a few selected.
Hi, I just called them. They told me only a few selected.
Did you get your decision?
Hi Leveltwo, out of interest what is your background like? Have just submitted an application myself.
Alan-Zhu, When did you apply?
Feb 2nd
Was just trying to submit my Round 2 Application and saw on the website that my application's status is "Deadline Expire" when the stated deadline is clearly February 13th. Does anyone have the admissions' email address so that I can ask them about that?
Here you go : [email protected]
@V_1234 Have you received an interview invitation already? If so, when did you submit the application?
Yes I have an interview scheduled. Submitted on 13/2 and received invite shortly after
Hi V_1234, Could you provide me a general overview of what your interview was like?
Hi V_1234, Could you provide me a general overview of what your interview was like?

Have you heard yet? I got my decision today
Did you get in?
What was your decision? Anyone else got an email? I thought the decisions were out at the same time as everyone.
Kellogg MS in management - any latest updates? (class of 2017) (Originally Posted: 11/16/2015)
Hi guys,
Now that Kellogg has opened its MSMS to non Northwestern UG's, does anybody have any new updates regarding this program?
Looking at the students (whose names Kellogg provided under student perspectives on MSMS page) linkedin profiles (and their class linkedin contacts) it seems many are in consult roles. Observed few in management. None in Fin (IB/PE/VC/ER/AM/S&T etc).
Is this course fundamentally designed for consult roles? Is this Duke MMS without the Fin roles?
Any information on recruitment procedure? networking opportunities (if someone is interested in fin) etc.
Any Kellogg MSMS grads on WSO?
I got mine... Waitlisted. How was yours?
Just took a quick look at Michigan Ross MIM. There aren't too many forums on this one too (although Ross website has given more placement information than Kellogg's)
Companies list by Ross MIM career page: "EJGallo, Digitas, TJMaxx, Huron Consulting, PepsiCo, Keating Consulting Group, Target, FTI Consulting, LaSalle Real Estate, Textron, Toys R Us"
Another sentence from Ross MIM career page - "In April-May, incoming Master of Management students engage in career exploration activities led by Ross Career Services. These activities equip incoming students with crucial knowledge about different types of careers, including consulting, marketing, and corporate finance"
Well, it appears they have made the objectives of the program quite clear. So, time to strike off this one too or will networking land you a fin role?
Looks like only Duke MMS vs Best MSF's: very tough decision
I got in from R1 :)
Hey ccchristy , i have just received an interview invite. Could you please tell me how yours went? Any thing in particular that I should keep in mind?
The website just showed a download link - 'The 2016 Class Profile'. Does that suggest the Entering class or the Graduating class of 2016? Quite confusing as the applications for the entering class is still open so they can't have released an exhaustive class profile yet?
