Macy's Formal/Suit sale tomorrow: 25% off of everything

Just went to Macy's to check out suits for my training that's coming up next week. I saw a couple really nice DKNY and Alfani suits. DKNY was regularly priced at $595 and the Alfani around $499. Starting tomorrow, the DKNY will be $280; 25% off of $369 which is the sale price. It fit really well and for $280 I don't know if there's a better suit. Hugo Boss, etc will also be on sale. Just getting it out there.

Awesome thanks dude. Been looking to upgrade the wardrobe before training starts.

People tend to think life is a race with other people. They don't realize that every moment they spend sprinting towards the finish line is a moment they lose permanently, and a moment closer to their death.

Ugh, seriously guys? DKNY and Alfani suits? Do you want to be made fun of by your coworkers? You are making 6figures go get a normal fucking suit.

A lot of us are rising seniors with limited amounts of support from parents/others. Do you seriously expect us to to go into debt for a suit for a summer internship when the odds of anyone actually noticing the difference are slim to none?

La08ker34 (I think I got it) was assuming you were working FT, thus the (seemingly) stupid comment.

DKNY suit for 280 isn't bad at all. Fit is most important, if it fits well and doesn't look real flashy or anything, it's probably a good bet. Nobody is going to come up to you, unbutton your suit coat, and look inside for the tag.

Exactly. They are thin-fit suits so they look great and the jacket needs very little tailoring. Great color selection as well. The Alfani suts are mix and match but the combinations look great.

DKNY and Alfani are horribly cheap and ugly suits. Go to century 21 or giltman.com and buy at least a hickey freeman or hugo boss or some sort of unknown italian suit for the same $300-400 price you guys are talking about. It's not like you guys are saying oh I only have $100 to pay for a suit, then sure buy a DKNY suit. But if you are planning to spend $300-$400, then shit I get bespoke tailored suits for $450.

You can get a high quality suit for $450, yes, but if he can get a suit for ~$300 that fits him and probably doesn't need to be altered should he? Absolutely. The $150-$200 difference is a big deal for some people, especially college students who don't have the support of their parents.

Exactly. I need the suit for the first day or training, the first day of work this summer, and a couple other dinners with guys on the desk (rates and currencies desk here). I know a good tailor in the area, and the DKNY+tailor will suit me more than well.

Can't wait till you get pointed and laughed at by the curry munchers in IT.

What's the point of being a complete asshole to random people online? Do you get some sort of satisfaction from it? You're obviously not trying to be helpful. Just a douche. Honestly, what's the point?

Until you're more familiar with suit brands, imo at least, you're better off getting a suit in a store than online. Different suits will fit differently and tailoring can only do so much.

Just get a suit that looks nice, no one honestly gives a fuck except these morons.

Not really too worried about what suit I have because I'm sure it's the last thing that I'll be judged upon when considering me for a FT position. Would just like to get input from all directions to assure that I'm not getting a bad deal, or that there's not a better deal out there for a marginal increase in price.

Nice man, congrats on the buy!

And reddog made another good point, if you aren't familiar with suits (and specific brands) it makes it harder to pick a suit close to your size.
