Man Group Graduate Progamme training

Hello

I have an upcoming interview for the Graduate Progamme.

Does anyone know what to expect during the interview process and what the actual rotations consists of? Sounds very general to me.

Thanks !

Here is the job description:

Graduate Trainee Programme:
Man Group plc is launching its new graduate trainee programme starting in September 2014 – this is a unique chance to gain a graduate position at a leading global alternative Asset Management business. Successful candidates will rotate through 3 – 4 placements within investment management and sales over a two year period. There may also be opportunities to undertake a placement overseas.

As one of our trainees, you will gain a thorough understanding of our business and having completed the programme, will be well-placed to develop a long-term career at Man. Formal and on-the-job training will be provided to enable you to contribute to the business. You will also have direct access to Man’s senior leadership team, as each trainee will be mentored by a member of the Executive Committee.

It doesn't sound like they know either. I know MAN runs a ton of different funds including FOFs which would suck to be stuck at for 6 months. (do they? I am pretty sure they do)

Also, I entered the industry through the buyside as well, but looking back I am not sure if it was such a great idea.

Are there positions open?

It manages a range of funds, so research the division you are applying for.

They acquired GLG partners, so you should know this.

I suggest downloading the Annual Report.

One of the biggest hedge funds in Britain, especially post-acquisition of GLG. Man is multi-strategy shop, their main fund AHL is a quant futures fund-I think it's fairly black-box. They're public so there should be a lot of information available compared to the average hedge fund.

There have been many great comebacks throughout history. Jesus was dead but then came back as an all-powerful God-Zombie.
