MBB on hold/waitlisted after final round
Got a call last night after my MBB final round telling me I was on hold and would know for sure before Thanksgiving. My guess is that since I'm on the fence they want to wait til after their next 1-2 final rounds to see how I stack up.
I've started reaching out to my (mostly junior) contacts at the firm to let them know/"make some noise."

Only one firm does that. It's kind of a BS process too because it makes future employees feel like shit, and then question the company once they get there.
And honestly, I'm not sure what kind of leverage being on a waitlist will have.
Oops, didn't meant to post that preemptively. I'd reach out to those at the firm who you know. Honestly though, it's more dependent on whether or not people choose other firms than about contacts pushing you through. That company is really intent on getting a certain number of people this year (and in most years), which is why they even have a waitlist.
I wasn't told I was on a waitlist, but they called to tell me it would take a bit more time (no definite timeline) for a decision...
