Morgan Stanley Groups that do M&A in house??

Hi All,

Curious to hear which Morgan Stanley Groups do M&A in house? I know that a lot of the groups outsource their M&A to the MS M&A Group, but I would like to know which ones do not.

Please let me know!

Typically FIG, RE, and GPUG keep all M&A in house because those sectors are seen as different. There isn't a hard line, but generally larger deals - say 1BN+ - get pushed to M&A while the remainder stay in house. That said even if M&A comes in that doesn't mean you are completely out in all cases - you will still likely contribute to materials prep. But you might not be the day to day guy

"They are all former investment bankers that were laid off in the economic collapse that Nancy Pelosi caused. They have no marketable skills, but by God they work hard."

No. Sure, M&A is great experienced but it's not like you'll be useless under the scenario I laid out. Don't make a group decision off of this, at least at MS.
