Morgan Stanley IBD HK SA 1st round (Originally Posted: 01/04/2010)
Hi,
Does anybody have any experience on the first round phone interviews with Morgan Stanley IBD Hong Kong branch?
Do they interview you in Mandarin, Cantonese, English, or a combination of those?
Is the interview mainly consisting of technical or fit/behavorial questions or an equal compilation of both?
If anybody could shed some insight and enlighten me that would be great

Guess I am not selected ...... sigh....
I have no idea, they just called my house asking to setup a phone interview. I heard from my other friends that they already had their 1st rounds in December. Perhaps it is rolling or I was an alternate. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the latter since I didn't expect to hear back at all with my background.
dey got some HARD technicals rollin' stuff designed to weed out all those vault guide readers. they don't even care to touch stuff that everyone can regurge. good luck man.
morningsoup, how many interviews did your friends have for their 1st rounds? one? 2? 3? I heard first round has 3 interviews? Can your friends confirm that? thanks

It seems like everyone wants to have an interview with Morgan Stanley. Morgan Stanley is also known on taking Strategic Default. What really Strategic Default means? Take Morgan Stanley for instance – they had obligations due on real estate property that they chose to simply return to the lenders rather than pay on obligations they could have actually paid. They had revenues of billions – it isn't as if they needed secured loan. The average person is subject to ridicule and shame for these things, but Morgan Stanley faces no consequences.
