Official Eyeglasses for IBD Thread
All,
I figured I would start this thread as previous ones are old and outdated. For those on the street, particularly NYC/SanFran/Chicago, what eyeglasses do you rock on a daily basis? Do you have a rotation?
What do people think about Silhouettes, Oliver Peoples, Persol, Tom Ford, Anglo-American?
Do you prefer a traditional tortoise frame P3 frame like the O'Malley's, or a conservative minimalist frame like Silhouettes?
Discuss!

Beer filed glasses, they seem to make others less irritable.
Paul Allen has mistaken me for this dickhead Marcus Halberstram. It seems logical because Marcus also works at P&P and in fact does the same exact thing I do and he also has a penchant for Valentino suits and Oliver Peoples glasses. Marcus and I even go to the same barber, although I have a slightly better haircut.
Make it clear you're a shark with these babies
AndyLouis it says I have alt text that says "put the fin back in lev fin" that doesn't seem to be showing up
pls advise because i think the alt text will give me more bananas and i need the dopamine rush asap
I look so young (for my age) that I got fake "prescription" glasses to look older.
But I wear contacts. Get the daily ones - wear and throw every day. It's great.
Oh and my frames are Ferragamo. 100% authentic with 100% fake (non prescrip) lenses.
alain mikli
Personally, I like Montblanc, Ray Ban, Giorgio Armani and Tom Ford ... but I think that that the brand doesn't really matter. Just don't wear something too fancy, flashy and/or weird
Baylor alum?
O'Malley's all the way
Oliver Peoples. Been complimented a bunch of times on my OP glasses.
I have some tortoise masunaga glasses. Have some cheeky red and a pair or blue glasses from Warby .
These posts have to stop, lol.
If you just asked people what glasses they like to wear you wouldn't have gotten any monkey shits lol
Lol oh well
.
There are a few helpful suggestions to aid you when purchasing sunglasses. It is important that the frame fits comfortably on your face, if you do select a frame that is too large keep in mind it can often be adjusted. If metal frames are chosen they can sometimes be slightly bent for a better fit, plastic frames can often be heated for a better fit. There are recommendations for finding sunglass shapes and colors that will complement your own face shape and coloring, ask your salesperson for ideas. It might be noted that sunglasses in general are taking on larger sizes, as wearers want ultimate protection from the sun's harmful rays.
Ehh I wear glasses everyday. Had / have these in the past few years (glasses got stepped on, ran over by cars, thrown out of balconies and thrown at walls) - LA Eyeworks, OP, Tart Optical, Rodenstock x 3...
i have a big head. i wish oliver people's fit me but alas my brain is too big and much more powerful than the average human.
Oliver Peoples or Ray Ban. +1 for the username
Thanks my guy, just hoping I can fix my eyesight so I can gun down more noobs with my darkbow. Dragon arrows, of course, as I'm not just some pleb.
Dark Bow? What the fuck -- I'm gonna have to remove you from my friends list. Take your bank and go buy a Twisted bow, or I'm going to have to twist your ankles.
On another note: funny how Runescape probably ruined your eye-sight too. After I completed Desert Treasure for the first time I gained ancient spells on my 6 def pure but traded in my vision.
Oliver People's do not fit my head sadly, so I stick to contacts.
Just got some nice Carter Bonds.
Oliver Peoples, Scheyer
Ray Ban(work), Burberry (Casual & sometimes work)
Oliver Peoples - Gregory Peck
Horn-Rimmed Glasses as a SA (Originally Posted: 11/19/2014)
I currently wear tortoise horn-rimmed eyeglasses, and have for awhile. They take the same shape as Patrick Bateman's. I was wondering if I should avoid wearing them to SA interviews.. How would they be seen from an interviewer's perspective?
Thanks
broken.
but really, you think they're a bad idea for interviewing?
Oliver Peoples?
Oliver Peoples glasses and Valentino suits
They're fine as long as you're not wearing a skinny suit and tie and have a hipster-esque hair cut. That may all be fashionable but you're not interviewing for a job at GQ or in the fashion industry.
Make sure they suit you rightly. If thye do so you can go with it, but if feel it to be insecure then don't wait to change the glasses.
Should be aright, but I have to go return some videotapes.
I think you should not prefer such type of glasses at the time of interview .
Are these glasses too douchey for an intern at a BB? (Originally Posted: 12/22/2013)

These are the prescription glasses that I wear now. Working at a BB this summer, are they okay?
they're fine. good taste on your part; i approve.
Yeah they're fine
I say yes. They stand out more than is ideal
I wear these in tortoise. They look great with a navy suit.
If there is any hesitation in your mind, please don't wear them
Why do you need new glasses to be some coffee monkey anyway?
I think they're good.
A bit round for my taste, but to each his own
$240 seems like a lot of money for that style. Hope your insurance picked up a big chunk of that. I think Warby Parker has better styles for cheaper.
.... moscot makes some of the best frames in the business and has a history of excellence. warby parker is a cheaper, lower quality version of moscot that's cashing in on a trend.
If he can afford it, more power to OP.
I don't like those. I have a penchant for Oliver Peoples glasses.
lightweight eyeglasses? (Originally Posted: 05/14/2012)
Hey guys, I'm looking to replace my old glasses with something a little more lightweight... Any brand suggestions? Been looking at Silhouettes but I've been getting mixed reviews, couple friends of mine say they're the best while another's been telling me to treat them like the plague (too flexible, too thin, etc). Anybody here wearing them? What frames do you guys wear anyway?
Thanks.
cheap, chic and light weight (will not leave marks on your nose). http://www.warbyparker.com/
Oliver Peoples' Emerson are not commonly seen; however, to wear these you need a considerably better haircut than the common folk.
contacts?
Thanks guys, I'll be looking into those. Any other suggestions?
@heister, can't stand contacts man, something about fiddling with my own eyeballs that doesn't really appeal to me. Thanks though.
