PE to Business Analyst...back to Finance?

Hey guys,

Just looking for some quick insight. I took a PE job straight out of undergrad for about a year. It was a boutique and I learned a lot. The experience was amazing and I could only hope to find another environment like this one.

I moved on from here after my contract ended to take a new job completely unrelated to finance/investment banking. I don't want to reveal the name but it is the leading company in it's sector (F500 company). Apparently it is also one of the top 3 to 5 best places to work in the world. But deep down inside, I know it's not what I want.

I will be here for the next year or so, and the reason I took the job was because it was the only sure offer I received. Was this the right or wrong choice? Will this hurt my resume? I want to get back into something in finance and I am wondering if anyone has been/in my position before.

Thanks, N
