Raymond James Superday

I understand that there isn't a large Southern presence here, but I was curious if anybody is attending the Raymond James superday this weekend?

Otherwise, does anybody have any input or insight into the company for a full-time analyst position? I know a lot of the bulge brackets have already completed recruiting and have a negative outlook on the short-term (double-dip).

Thanks, and please shy away from bashing every MM firm or non-bulge bracket firm.

I'm guessing Raymond James has a "Superday" pretty much anytime the Bucs don't get their asses kicked by the Saints.

With that in mind, the Raymond James Superday is canceled this weekend.

Geaux Saints!

You've got quite the sense of humor- they are playing this weekend in the Raymond James Stadium! But, I'm not a fan of either teams. The Dirty Birds is who I'm repping, which I'm sure you are very familiar with. If I recall correctly, they whooped up on NOLA a few weeks ago!

Bump. Would appreciate some input on Raymond James IBD. How does the company fare in the middle-market?

Any input on compensation, groups, exit opps, etc? Are they considered close competition to Baird, HW, HLHZ, Jefferies?

Thanks in advance.

Lawl RayJay? isn't he the one who banged Kim Kardashian?

I'd watch out for RayJay man, it might be on the level of PiperJefferies but dude its base is in tampa FL.

I know the Jersey Shore moved down South, but boy RayJay is not that great.

RJ is not really that great. Bought a few bankrupt boutiques. Seem to be more of a retail francise with brokers.

agree with the person above, plus exit opps to PE firms are limited outside of Florida. they are strong in capital raising due to their retail business, but you will get very little exposure to M&A transactions

they are like a weaker version of us bank and pnc. no m&a but has broker retail

They have M&A group.

They seem to be getting traction in banking. Check the league tables out.

Their real estate group took CCG public. Check the prospectus out. They were to the left of GS and other bulge-bracket firms.

RJ equity research I've heard is top quality, better than some BBs. Idk about their houston office, should be the same. Image wise, and on WSO, people like to put RJ at lower MM, but their ER department is definitely a notch above the entire firm. Also heard RJ's ibd energy group in houston works people to death...so im thinking they have plenty of deals. can't answer on comp.

Not sure about energy, but know that HC and PubFin are decent since acquisition of Morgan Keegan. I think that it is a pretty respectable firm overall though IMO
