Restructuring and Turnaround Exit Ops

How realistic is it to join a MM or UMM PE firm from a top Restructuring and Turnaround firm (A&M, Alix)? What are other possible exit opportunities? Considering joining A&M out of undergrad over a IB.

I've seen this done previously, both pre-MBA and post-MBA, so it's certainly possible. I would assume you would need to target turnaround/distressed PE funds (e.g. Sun Capital) and it would be an uphill battle to join some larger funds (e.g. Monarch, Cerberus, Apollo).

Judging by "bumps" here, ya'll may be interested in bumping my recent request to amalgamate all RX/distressed investing questions in a single forum: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/request-for-mods-consider-adding…</a">https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/request-for-mods-consider-adding…

Unfortunately I do not. I tried using filters with Preqin to get something like this but ultimately realized it was a manual exercise and there's no good way to verify what the funds actually do vs what they say they do on their website (e.g. website might list "turnaround" as part of their strategy and you'd never know whether they have even done a turnaround/distressed deal, or if 99% of their companies were bought in bankruptcy auctions).
