*Revised* Freshman Non Target Resume Review
Hey Everbody,
A few days back I posted a copy of my resume. I have since revised it to the shorter and more concise M&I template and I wanted some feedback. I'm still in the process of looking for summer internships and as a freshman I'll take anything I can get. I've tried to tailor it as much to banking/finance as I can. I do have some high school items on there, but considering I'm freshman I thought it wouldn't be too out of place. Any constructive feedback, advice or recomendations are thoroughly appreciated. Thanks and here it is:

getting late for SA positions and coming from non target you're going to have to be more engaging... start cold calling PWM offices around your area as well as MM shops and other boutiques and see if they can atleast let you on as a non paid intern - its better to have something on your resume than nothing
also, if nothing pans out for this summer - try to do something on your own, I see you did that before so try to continue it - again - something looks better than nothing on your resume
Agreed...it'd be a good idea to find your local PWM offices. Browse the larger b/ds (Merrill, Morgan Stanley, etc.) websites...you can find offices in your area. In some cases, you can find out who the larger teams are in that office and write them a letter and enclose your resume. Call them a week later to follow up. Could do the same thing with the branch/complex manager.
Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm definitely locating a lot of PWM offices around me, and being in NJ /NY, there are a lot of them. I'll be cold calling as many as I can, seeing who I Can get a response from. I've also applied to a couple of internships through my school's career website, though from what I've been reading, it's just better to cold call. YoungsieSig: For your letter suggestion, should I just write them something along the lines of a cover letter and mail it to them with my resume? Also, has this technique worked for you before?
