SSE vs RSM vs Warwick vs Cass

Hi mates!

I hope you can give me some input on the following decision:
I got accepted for a Msc in Management at SSE, RSM, Warwick and Cass.

My shortterm goal is to get into Management Consulting. I have a Economics/Management (I did a programme in between) background. I speak German, Italian and English.

Till now I think I will accept the offer of SSE.

What do you think?

Useful answers would be really nice! Thanks in advance!

Best,
Murmeltier

What's your money situation? SSE is free still, isn't it? And it's a very good university. If I could rank them for working in Europe later on I would say:

  1. RSM or Warwick
  2. Cass
  3. SSE

But Cass and Warwick are very expensive so it all depends on how much spare change you have.

If you choose SSE, be prepared to feel like a mexican. Everybody there is blonde.

If you choose RSM, be prepared to feel like a hobbit.

If you choose Warwick or Cass, be prepared to feel superior to all native people.

At SSE I got accepted for MSc in Business & Management Program, specialization in Management. What do you mean by "intense" (I suppose you mean that)?

@Boreed Well... Money is not an issue as I see it as my master degree as a an investment from which I profitate my whole life... but of course paying less ise nice :)

Sorry but can you explain your ranking? Your comments below that are nothing else than stupid stereotypes and I have been in Rotterdam and Stockholm, I am well enough imformed regarding every day life...

It was a joke, I'm Swedish living in the UK. Go for whichever fucking masters u want.

Rotterdam is 1,5 years and it is the CEMS program, BUT I will only get partner universities like Vienna, UCL/IAG Louvain-la-Neuve, Norwegian School of Economics etc...

Till now I did'nt any serios intership, therefore for me the question regarding the for me available universities is only Stockholm or Rotterdam.

OR I could still apply to St.Gallen.

But I am strongly lean towards accepting Stockholm and retrying there to get into CEMS with a better exchange university.

I guess the sse master is more rounded given two years,, you can take an internship inbetween, figure out what you want to do, and as said recruitment is really good

otherwise, living yeah it it what it is, rotterdam is pretty shitty though

"too good to be true" See my WSO Blog

Try St. Gallen. Any Master program there will significantly improve your recruiting chances compared to the alternatives.

RSM will eventually boil down to just one year and your thesis as far as I understand which sounds quite good for doing an internship. But if you actually really believe that you will still learn something on top of your existing degree, then go with the 2 years at SSE. From what I heard career services are a bit better there than at RSM as well. Workload will be quite similar between those two anyway.

SSE due to the whole package.

Great university, awesome city to live in and nice people to live with, top placement.

Although the HSG might be at least on par with SSE, living in St. Gallen sucks (believe me) and commuting from a fancier city like Zurich isn't worth it.

I would go to SSE (without a doubt).

PS.: Do you mind sharing your background (GMAT, TOEFL, Degree). I'm quite interested in the SSE as well.

@ LNDBNKR: Did you attend SSE? Would you share your PM discussion about the school with the OP with me/us?

Thanks for the input! I accepted SSE's offer. Due to the city, 2 years duration (necessarys for official ricognition in Italy, where i come from) I was always tempted to choice it, but I thought it is worse than the other mentioned universities... but during my "research" I figured out that it is not the fact and also your statements reflect that.

@above_and_beyond Did you study at HSG? Your lived at St.Gallen? Well.... the thing is HSG could be better, could, that is the problem. If I make all that effort that is necessary for the application at the end I would not even know which university to choice if i got accepted. :) One strong point of HSG is though that I speak perfectly German and for the "German world" HSG, especially the Strategy and International Management Master is the crème de la crème.

Profile: 710 GMAT, 108 TOEFL, 27,67/30 average grade (with which it is possibile to graduate cum laude if you make a good thesis) at a good italian university (not bocconi)

I didn't study at HSG, but since I'm german i know about the outstanding reputation of HSG in the "German world". Nevertheless, one of my buddies is studying in St. Gallen and I visited him several times. The city and the life there is just boring imho. Don't get me wrong: I know that HSG is one of the superb schools in Europe but I wouldn't want to live there for some time. Especially if I had the choice to go to the SSE instead.

All in all, I think the "SSE package" is the most convincing out of your options.

By the way, thanks for your profile.
